10/20/2012- A Day Filled With FUN & EXCITEMENT

Today is a busy day. Kohen had a soccer game early this morning. Which he did pretty good in. He is lacking that killer instinct which is frustrating but I'm sure that will come with time. He is only 5 :). Our next stop was Mac Brown's for pictures. We are surprising my mother with pictures of all the kids for Christmas. She is going to be so exited and we can't wait. For an added little surprise we decided to have my daddy bring "her" truck out to Mac's. "Her" is in quotes because this truck is an antique that my dad had redone. but he claims that it was for my mother. And that is probably a little true because a truck wouldn't have been his first choice... anyway, we left Kohens ball game early do we could get the pictures. So everything was going good. We all looked like crazy people trying to get them to smile. You can imagine 6 kids smiling at 8 adults acting like fools. Lol. We were having a sweet little family moment and then...BOOM!... Kohen knocked the truck into neutral :( As we were all watching it in shock my Daddy ran over and hit the brakes before it crashed into a tree. God is so good. No one was hurt but we were all frazzled... even Rebecca who quickly ended the session :). Probably most eventful session she has had in a while. Our next stop was "little Khloe's" birthday party (that is what Kohen calls her). She was turning 4. Her party was at Loretto Park. The kids got to pin-the-tail-on-the-donkey and hit a piƱata, two things they had never done before. The last stop of the day was a kids Halloween party at Beth and Dustin's. They got to dress up in their Halloween costumes and eat candy apples (which was Kohens favorite). And we ended the night with a hay ride through downtown Loretto. It was a wonderful day filled with new experiences.

Bedtime Stories

My children are my world. Eddie and I live and breathe for them. We have a bed time ritual now that Briggs is a little older that we all get in the bed together and Mommy tells everyone the story of their choice. Kohen always wants to hear a story about Mario and Landin Claire wants to hear about Dora and boots and every once in a while I will tell about magical frogs and tadpoles. Those are the stories that my Granny use to tell us and it's funny that they are still comforting to me to this day. My Granny would have loved my kids and praise God for sending Jesus to die for my sins so that my Granny will get to enjoy my kids one day. Here are some pictures if us getting ready for bed.

My little thumb sucker

Briggs is 6 months old and is a thumb sucker... a wake up in the middle of the night with thumb in mouth, will suck the left thumb when you take the right one out, i LOVE my thumb... Thumb Sucker... and it scares me! It is the most precious thing anyone has ever seen but I'm not sure if I will be able to break him from it later. I already have a 3 year old (Landin Claire) that doesn't want to give up her paci. She said that she would give it up when she goes to school. Not sure if she meant preschool or kindergarten... Well for the time being I am putting the paci in his mouth to try and keep him from sucking his thumb... We will see how it shakes out :)

The Paci Queen

Landin Claire is a Paci Queen. She loves her pacis! I am not sure how we are going to get rid of them yet. Tonight she told me that she was ready to give up her paci but this is what I found... She was asleep with a Paci in her mouth and one in her hand. Lol

10/11/12

Today was a dreaded day for me... It was time for my oldest two to be immunized. (I dreaded it so bad that I took my Dad with me and left Briggs with the baby sitter). I am a "natural" kind of Mommy. I do like immunizations but I think they give the babies too many too soon. I have taken the "gradual immunization" approach. Kohen is up to date on his immunizations, he has had some from his pediatrician in TN and some from the military (you know where you take a number and get in line) I decided to go ahead and get his kindergarten immunizations since heaven only knows what is going to happen to healthcare after the election. He did as expected... a little screaming... a little crying, but was happy as soon as Popsie gave him a piece if gum. And then there is Landin Claire... she is my Amish baby. Landin Claire is "fhree" (3)... born at home... in the water... and probably didn't have an immunization until she was 9 months old. No Hep B at birth...nothing. So today I went in not knowing where she stood as far as being "up to date". I was happy to find out that after today she wouldn't need anything until kindergarten when she is 6 :). That made this mommy verrrry happy. Well needless to say Landin Claire did exactly like I thought she would... Got mad...Screamed....Cried... and didn't stop crying for about 15 minutes. She finally mustarded a smile once the girls gave her some princess stickers...lol. Anyway I guess all-in-all she did good and this Mommy is glad it is over.
